Hello! I'm Shawn. I'm currently a lecturer in Political Science at UCLA. My work focuses on political parties and the organized interests that they represent. My dissertation focuses on the influence of organized donor networks on the electoral prospects of primary candidates. This work stems from a larger collaborative project at UCLA, Parties on the Ground -- a multi-method approach to understanding nominations and the composition of political parties in the United States. I have conducted elite interviews, exit surveys, and network analysis of campaign contributions to help answer these questions.
I earned my Ph.D. in June of 2018. I received my B.A. in Political Science from Brown University in 2012. For more information about me and my on-going research, see my C.V.
